Dear
WestJet Guest,
Before you pack your bags and head for the airport, please take a moment to review what you can -- and can't -- take on your flight.
You may be surprised at how many common, everyday items are restricted because they pose a potential hazard in the special environment found onboard an aircraft.
Some recent changes include:
Carry-on Restrictions enforcing items brought on aircraft as carry-on baggage or on your person, including liquids, gels and aerosols.
For further details please read the latest information here.
UPDATES: June 2008 -
A Zippo lighter is allowed but must be placed in a plastic bag and carried in carry-on baggage only.
SMOKE HOODS: - Depending on manufacturer, smoke hoods containing a filtering device that have no connection with a generator or explosive activating device will be accepted as carry on or checked baggage by a passenger on a WestJet aircraft.
Recalls on lithium ion batteries used in laptop computers.
here, and consult your laptop manufacturer's web page for battery recall details and usage restrictions.
Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs):
WestJet is the first Canadian carrier to accept Portable Oxygen
Concentrators (POCs) onboard flights for guests who require supplemental
or life enhancing oxygen. You can read about the brands and restrictions applicable to POC's here.
We hope you will agree that spending just a few minutes now to avoid delays at Check-in time - and help support airline safety - is worthwhile.
Thank
you,
Gregg Saretsky
President and Chief Executive Officer
